Balsamic vinegar is the gift that keeps on giving. Not only is it edible perfection on its own, but bring it to a boil, then simmer it for 15-20 minutes and it thickens into a rich, syrup-like glaze. A glaze perfect for drizzling over bread with olive oil, Caprese Salad or anything else you want to make great.
How to Make Balsamic Reduction
1. Whisk 1 cup of balsamic vinegar and a tablespoon of honey or sugar together in a small pot over medium high heat.
2. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to simmer until vinegar thickens, 15-20 minutes.
3. Remove reduction from heat and set aside to cool. The reduction will continue to thicken as it cools.

Whisk vinegar and honey or sugar together thoroughly. The honey or sugar will burn if left at the bottom of your pan, unwhisked.
Keep in mind your reduction will continue to thicken as it cools so remove it from the heat before it reaches glaze consistency.
