Today I’m sharing time-saving smoothie prep tips to make prepping your fruit and vegetable smoothies a breeze. Smoothies are a great way to get in a healthy breakfast or snack on the go. They’re nutrient rich and you can enjoy several servings of fruits and vegetables in one tasty drink.
Smoothie Prep Tips
Smoothies require a bit of prep work that can be time consuming, especially on busy mornings, so here are a few things you can do to plan and prep ahead. Rinse several servings of fruits and vegetables at one time. Pat them dry and chop, slice or peel them if necessary. Package them separately in resealable plastic bags or airtight containers and store them in the fridge or freezer until you’re ready to use them. This is a great option if you like to mix and match your smoothie ingredients.
Have a recipe you love? Measure the ingredients you need for a single smoothie and package them together in one container. When you’re ready to blend, just empty the container into your blender or food processor and you’re ready to go. Be sure to pack fruits on the bottom with leafy greens on top. This will keep the greens from soaking up the moisture from the fruit. Always package liquids separately. Watch the video to see how it’s done and check out the recipes for my two favorite smoothies (Strawberry, Banana & Spinach Smoothie and Cantaloupe, Kale & Ginger Smoothie) here.
