50 Essentials for a Well-Stocked Kitchen

A well-stocked kitchen is a thing of beauty! Outfitting your kitchen with all the tools you need can be a daunting task, especially if you’re a novice cook.

I’ve compiled a list of 50 kitchen essentials to help get you started. Not everyone will need everything on this list, but the goal is to get you thinking about those items you must have, those you want and those that are splurges.

I’ve organized my list into five categories — Knives, Cookware, Baking, Appliances and Tools. Buy the items you’ll use frequently to cook your daily meals first then purchase others as you need them. Don’t feel like you have to shell out big bucks for expensive items. Buy what you can afford and go from there.

  1. This is a great list of items to include in the kitchen. I’ve had a few times where I was making something for dinner only to find that I didn’t have the right tool ready for measuring! It can be daunting, but, like you said, this is a good place to start getting ideas.
