To make a berry cobbler, place 1 pound of fresh (or frozen) berries and 1/4 cup sugar in a medium pot. Whisk together 1 tablespoon each of lemon juice and cornstarch and add to the berries. Simmer until sugar dissolves and juices begin to thicken, about 5-7 minutes. Place 4 lightly-buttered 6-ounce ramekins on a sheet tray and fill the ramekins with the fruit.
To make the topping, whisk together 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons sugar and 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder in a medium bowl. Whisk in 1/2 cup buttermilk and 2 tablespoons melted butter. Spoon the batter evenly on top of the fruit. Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit until the cobbler dough is golden brown, about 15 minutes. Serve with whipped cream.
