This soup is summer in a bowl…which is probably why I’m craving it during this particularly frigid winter. It’s wonderful year-round, but especially so when fresh, sweet corn is at its peak. The rest of the year I use frozen corn kernels and frozen corn on the cob, which make for an excellent substitute. The → Hungry for more?
The first soups are thought to have been fashioned by primitive man (or woman) dropping hot rocks into liquids to heat them. The liquids warmed by those hot rocks have evolved into the soups, stews, bisques and chowders we enjoy today. What makes a soup a soup or a chowder a chowder?
